Welcome to our new house

HCMCFM is an online platform focusing on electronic music diffusion.
By exploring the vast territories of cyberspace, it aims to bring exposure to the music we love: house music, electronica, techno, …. all the genres and subgenres making the richness of what we can broadly refer to as dance music.
It has often been said that dance music is universal. We incline to believe that this statement is true, while being the most marketed, misguided and substanceless term used in the spread of dance culture.
Let s face it, dance music is extremely diverse and uncategorizable while being hyper-specific. It’s generally repetitive, sometimes loud, agressing our body system. It s made with machines, experienced by people dancing silently in dark rooms who tend to adopt crazy behaviors.
But also.. It s an addictive pleasure of the senses, and life enhancer.
Dancefloor is the place where dance music operates, not cyberspace, but this is a continuum space for anybody who wants to know more, discover new music, or interact with people who are alike.
This platform is a small contribution to the anonymous electronic music community: netlabels, producers, promoters, people allowing us to get our daily music fix. We hope the content here will grow and will lead you to further discoveries.

Laurent Garnier takes a swipe at Ed bangers

French super producer Laurent Garnier recently took a heavy-handed swipe at the current fashionistas of French music, the Ed Banger crew.In an interview last week with Resident Advisor, Garnier explained: “it’s all about marketing and how to exist in the scene, even without making music,” he says.“There have always been tons of French producers, but now you see them more because it’s all about the image. You know what? A lot of the new guys now, we wouldn’t have signed them to F Communications, because it’s not our thing. Musically it doesn’t excite us at all. Some of them I like—I’m not saying it’s all crap—but a lot of it just doesn’t talk to me. I feel a lot of it is marketing more than anything else. This is why I feel dubstep is more exciting, because I feel those guys are making it for the right reasons.”
